The BaTonga tribe from remote Northern Zimbabwe have been making these handmade Tsanga baskets from hand-picked Ilala Palm leaves for ages and are very well known for their excellent weaving skills. Traditionally, the baskets have been used for carrying maize or sorghum from the fields.
The baskets are all individually handwoven, with each one having a unique design.
The Ilala Palms are called Tsanga in Shona, the indigenous and national language from Zimbabwe.
They look gorgeous as a wall decoration or to use as a (fruit) basket on your table.
Every design is unique.
Each basket is individually handwoven and each one will have a unique design.
Please note that when you order four baskets that the design can vary from the images as each basket has a unique design.
