This maks is an mask originating from the Punu tribe in Gabon.
 
The mask represents the spirit of an ancestor and is commonly found throughout western and central Gabon.
The white face represents the soul of an ancestor.
The beautiful hairstyle (the top of the mask) is a common feature among the Punu women. 
In some of the masks, scarification on foreheads is visible, as is the case here.
 
Small cracks, discoloration, etc are a normal part of the aging process and add to the character of each item.
